Ingredients
1 cup Kala Chana (Black Chickpea), boiled
1/4 cup Red Onion, diced
1/4 cup Tomato, diced
1 green chili, chopped (optional)
1/4 cup Avocado, chopped (optional)
1 tablespoon Mint leaves, chopped
1 tablespoon Cilantro leaves, chopped
1 teaspoon Lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon Black salt (Kala namak)
1/4 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder, or another mild red chili powder
1 teaspoon Chaat Masala
1/2 teaspoon Dry Mango powder (Amchur)
Salt, to taste
1/2 cup Yogurt, whisked
Instructions
Prepare the Base: Add the boiled black chickpeas to a large mixing bowl.
Add Vegetables and Spices: Add the diced red onion, diced tomatoes, chopped green chili (if using), black salt, Kashmiri red chili powder, chaat masala, and dry mango powder to the bowl. Stir well to combine.
Add Fresh Ingredients: Add the chopped avocado (if using), mint leaves, cilantro leaves, and lemon juice to the mixture. Stir well.
Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust salt as needed.
Add Yogurt: Finally, add the whisked yogurt to the chaat and mix gently until well combined.
Serve: Serve the black chickpea chaat/salad immediately, or chill in the refrigerator for a refreshing and flavorful snack or side dish.
